On 25 September 2025, London hosted the first “Stronger Together: Forum for Cooperation and Aid”, bringing together over 250 leaders from Ukrainian civil society and charitable organisations across the United Kingdom.

Organised by Support Ukraine / London Euromaidan, British-Ukrainian Aid, and the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain, with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine, the forum became a platform to strengthen collaboration and share priorities for the UK–Ukraine partnership.

Representing the Resilience & Reconstruction, one of our founders Steven Lacey spoke on the urgent need to prioritise the fight against disinformation within international cooperation.

“In today’s information environment, disinformation is not just a tool of propaganda – it is strategic infrastructure designed to undermine international support, weaken sanctions, and sow division in our societies. As the UK–Ukraine partnership advances, building resilience against hostile narratives is as crucial as providing aid or military support.

At the Resilience & Reconstruction, we work to equip cultural, policy, and grassroots actors with the means to expose and counter disinformation, ensuring that our cooperation for Ukraine is grounded in facts, trust, and cultural solidarity,”

His message resonated with participants, underscoring that truth and trust are the foundations of resilience. Addressing disinformation is about not only protecting narratives – it is about safeguarding solidarity, understanding, and the shared values that underpin cooperation between the UK and Ukraine.

Key Points

·       Reframing disinformation: Recognise disinformation not simply as “propaganda” but as strategic infrastructure of war, requiring the same level of response as cyber defence or sanctions enforcement.

·       Understanding the UK landscape: Counter Russian narratives that exploit identity politics, amplify “war fatigue,” or co-opt cultural figures.

·       Empowering response: The Resilience & Reconstruction equips partners with tools to measure, expose, and counteract hostile narratives – bridging civil society, culture, and policy.

·       Integrated resilience: Promote unified strategies combining cultural diplomacy, policy advocacy, and information defence as key pillars of international cooperation.

The Stronger Together Forum highlighted that building resilience is not only about aid or about defence. It begins with protecting the integrity of information and strengthening the trust that binds our societies together.
